This place isn't bad pizza, but since Il Mondo is about the same distance from my apartment, and is much better pizza, I won't be going back. This is standard pizza-fare, and Il Mondo is just out of its class.

I don't know how anyone could give this place anything above 2 stars (a high two stars, but still two stars) when Il Mondo or Il Mundo is like, two blocks away. Seriously. If there was a store that sold other stores, they'd have this place under the "generic italian/greek eatery" section, in a big white box with a UPC printed on the side. It's about as good as Hi-Fi, but not even open as late. I mean it's not horrible by any means, but it's certainly not that good...

For what it is, T-HOP is awesome. Pretty great food at cheap prices. The guys who took our orders were super nice. $1.50 for a nice sized greasy slice ain't bad! I really like that you can sit down in here, unlike most of the other places to eat on this side of Tremont. No air-conditioning and the interior is kinda dumpy, but what are you expecting at $4.50 for eggplant parm? Massage chairs? $10 minimum for credit cards, but when we spent $9.40 they said it was okay.

Excellent calzones. Pretty good everything else. Cheap, greasy and tasty- the perfect combination.

This place is pretty good. They have good pastrami and pizza if you order the whole pizza and not by the slice. I used to live right across the street and it always hit the spot. They deliver now which is nice. A downside is they arent open very late.

Ok it helps that the guys who own this place are my super landlords! But i also like their pizza, a little greasy, but who doesnt like to indulge? The crust is nice and crispy, with a sort of sweetness to it. I have yet to try any of their other food (i work in another restaurant and get shift meals, i hardly eat anywhere else) But my roomates are excited to try this place out. The staff is very friendly if you chat with them and it has a decent sized sitting area. Only open till 11 though so my late night pizza needs will be fulfilled elsewhere.

There are other places in this neighborhood i'd rather go to, but this place isn't that bad. the pizza is eatable, but nothing special. The sandwiches are decent, but again nothing special. And the price range is pretty cheap, which is why i do go there when i'm strapped for cash. The only reason i like coming here once in a while is because the guys that work there are super nice. I feel bad that they run such a meh place, cause they really could do better.

Been a regular cutomer to this place for a long time. However today the service was dismal at its best. The person did not like the idea that i had ordered a dish and portrayed his disinterest in preaparing n serving it by mumbling some interesting words as he walked into the kitchen. Aint it true that happy customers are a key to running a good business?

Terrific guys, descent food, and good prices. If you're looking for pretty good subs and slices at a reasonable price from some very friendly bunch of guys, this is your place.

I had just moved to Boston about 6 months ago. I tried this place for the first time a month ago and I have been going every other day since then. I can't believe all of these negative reviews. They recently remodeled the whole restaurant and is under new management. Since I've been going, service has been great, food is delicious, and the people are so nice and the prices are reasonable so I recommend trying this place again

This was the first place I stopped by to eat in Boston and boy was I disappointed. We got the Tremont Specialty, or something along those lines. The pizza was basically a "Works" pizza with many of the vegetables and meats. I was busy moving in all day with my family and we hadn't eaten for literally 12 hours so we were tired and famished. Needless to say, I was extremely excited to finally get some food in my mouth. My parents ordered the Italian sub which was alright. The bread was pretty good - toasted, warm, and crispy. Other than that, nothing that really stood out. The pizza....errm...I felt like it was lacking something. Something that all pizzas should have but I can't quite pinpoint it. The pizza was a little bland too. I will admit though, the pizza (large) was very big. 2 slices and I was absolutely full. The workers were also pretty courteous and nice. I don't know if I would come back.

This place is noteworthy only for it's extravagantly mediocre pizza. In a city where almost every pizza shop seems to be competing for Most Mediocre Pizza Slice, THOP's brand of mediocrity out-mediocre's them all. I would give it a 1 star, but they serve this heated-cheese-dough mess so earnestly and with such a friendly demeanor that, gosh darnit, they earn that bonus star. To their credit, most places with crappy pizza usually have a service quality to match (it must be terribly depressing to work at a place that puts bad pizza into this world), but no. Not at THOP. Proudly serving their disappointing slice since god knows when. Looking at the other reviews here might tempt you to get a sandwich instead, but why even bother? Il Mondo and Crazy Dough are just a few blocks away. Go somewhere else. Go Anywhere else. Since you cared enough about your pizza to check this place out on Yelp, you are categorically not in the market for this kind of establishment.

Amazing food for very cheap. Their best stuff isn't even their pizza- try the cheezy fries and the garlic bread are so good and come in huge portions.

Every place in Boston with "House of Pizza" in the name has succeeded in disappointing me... this one is no exception. Their pizza is the same generic pie that seems to get shipped frozen and put through a conveyor belt oven or something at all pizza places of this tier. The chicken parm I ordered was made from pressed meet rather than a cutlet... I felt like I was eating a McNugget with tomato paste and cheese. Yet it was still not a cheap sandwich. I'm not sure why they're still in business with the Penguin and Il Mondo within a block... Anyway, I'll give them a star because I didn't get sick after eating there I guess.

God awful pizza!! There's a lack of sauce, cheese, and most of all dough, this pizza is literally paper thin. Do not waste your money!! Even on a drunk college night this restaurant is truly unacceptable. I give this location one star for is a 10% discount to college students

I'm not much of a pizza eater. I generally try to limit my hardcore caloric intake sessions to fine dining. But last night, I had a lot of laundry sitting in my hamper that I didn't really want to do, and sometimes I find that the best way to ensure that such mundane household tasks get done is to bribe myself, much like one might do with a toddler. So on the way home from work, I picked up a lovely new Diane von Furstenburg day dress, an couple of eyeshadows from MAC, and a decent bottle of Malbec (it really was a LOT of laundry, guys). I thought about it and realized that if I drank my dinner, I would probably wind up tie-dyeing my whites and folding things in a non-uniform manner and putting them in the wrong drawers. I also considered how much money I had just spent on self-bribery and determined that dinner was going to have to cost less than $3. Luckily, I passed THOP on the way back to my place, and decided that consuming a large quantity of a food I normally deny myself would be a good way to continue with the self-indulgent/self-disciplined theme of the evening. I ordered 2 slices of cheese, expecting them to be not quite so large as they were. Not that I'm not capable of eating two giant slices; believe me, I will make short work of any quantity of pizza that you put in front of me. They served them up overlapping one another on a couple of paper plates, and they immediately fused together into a mass of gooey, saucy, cheesy goodness. That, combined with the ultra thin-crust, meant that it fell squarely in realm of knife-and-fork food, which didn't bother me in the slightest but might be a dealbreaker for those looking to grab and go. The sauce was flavorful but not overwhelming, and there was exactly the perfect amount of cheese - not too much, not too little. My only complaint is that the end-crust (they should give it a new name, to distinguish it from the bottom-crust) was far too thick in comparison to the rest of the pizza and really dry. I was, however, appeased by the fact that the guy behind the counter was extremely generous when I asked for a side of Ranch dressing. Ranch dressing makes everything better. Also, they have a wide variety of seasonings to sprinkle on, further enhancing the pizza's overall tastiness. Best part? $1.40 a slice. Mission: meal under $3 accomplished!

How to make a chicken parm, start with breaded chicken breast....the key word here being chicken not 'frankenchicken' or 'sortachicken' or 'chicken type substitute'. If my only experience here was based on one chicken parm, unfortunately - I would have to give these guys 2 stars (2 because I like their sauce and the fact that they are quick). BUT I've had pizza which has been greasy good and their steak n cheese which was just north of OK. If you are at Flanns or at work in the Brigham Circle area or if for some awful reason you live here and don't have another take out menu - this place will feed you and I'm pretty sure you will find it both OK and not-sickening.

Good pizza for a cheap as dirt price. We always get the two large cheese pizzas and a two liter soda special for $16... Obviously it's not the greatest pizza in the world, but it's good.

I have been eating here off and on for years. The staff has always been friendly and the food is what you would typically find in a Boston sub shop. The pizza is a great deal and the steak and cheese sub is also very good.
